ABOUT

RAINE PETRIE (they/he) is an illustrator, writer, video editor and film programmer based in London Ontario. A graduate of Fanshawe College’s Broadcasting: Television and Film Production program, Raine’s areas of interest include homoeroticism and transgender subtext in the horror genre, new wave, maximalism, cult/exploitation cinema and corn syrup blood.

Raine is the Assistant Manager at London Ontario’s last remaining arthouse theatre HYLAND CINEMA, where they cut event trailers and curated preshows, assist in graphic design and film programming (including Hyland’s annual “Godzilla New Year”, the mini-series “Marty March Madness” and a special event screening of “Pink Flamingos”), poster illustration, merchandising and digital marketing. They have also created film poster art for the PARADISE THEATRE for their series Drag Me to the Movies and Evil Women and has been a member of the selection committee board for London Ontario’s FOREST CITY FILM FESTIVAL since 2023. Raine has also written for publications such as LITTLE WHITE LIES, GAYLY DREADFUL, MOVIEJAWN and IN THE MOOD MAGAZINE.
